HAPPY VALENTINES DAY… AND GO SEE DEADPOOL!!

We just wanted to give a big ol’ shout out to our ever-clamoring, nocturnal legions of red-eyed, drooly-fanged, die-hard readers and say HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ANY AND ALL!!

AND we have been screening DEADPOOL en masse for the last 24 hrs., the reviews are back and they are mighty. Holding an 80% on rottentomatoes.com as of this writing, it seems DEADPOOL is set to demolish the weekend box office, Having already pushed thru a now prolific advertising campaign, DEADPOOL is a complete riot. Hilarious, uber-meta, insanely violent and bloody whilst somehow still emotionally resonate with a nice romantic undertone, it really is everything that had been promised by it’s industrious ad campaign and more. Canoot wait for more DEADPOOL!! SEE IT ASAP.

FaceCon V: Life After Death Creeps Ever Closer…

…and excitement is running high. Yes fellow cultists, we here at Face Eater H.Q. are pleased as pie to announce that the confirmed attendance for this latest assembling of weirdoes and misanthropes is exceeding expectations and setting new records seemingly with each passing day. For the first time in FaceCon history, our primary venue for the event will not be enough to accommodate the growing number of members who feel compelled to join their face-eating brothers and sisters in an unholy pilgrimage to yet another (or in many cases a first) masochistic marathon of horror cinema, games, prizes, booze, bad decisions, questionable morals, and ill-intent that is FaceCon. We are equal parts shocked and thankful that so many of you have such little regard for common decency and personal safety. Together, we are raising FaceCon amongst the ranks of sex and crack-cocaine as a product that truly sells itself. Once more into the breach my friends. See you all in eight weeks…

SPECIAL THANKS to Hagen, Josh, Patrick, Daniel, Benjamin, Brando and Kirstin for their help getting all the votes counted and confirmed. We of the FACE EATERS Cinema Collective would just like to express our support of the many voices of dissent amongst Hollywood and it’s many fans worldwide regarding racial diversity in the Oscars. Before we saw The Big Short, Straight Outta Compton was our top pick for best film of the year and  it’s omission from Best Picture contention at this year’s Oscars is an egregious misstep on the part of an already faltering nominating committee. Not since Ellen Burstyn lost for best actress to Julia “Erin f***ing Brockovitch” Roberts back in ol’ 2001 have we been this confounded by the lack of clarity by the Academy. We wholeheartedly believe the system is screwed up and a change is needed. That said, we leave it better minds than ours to decide how that will happen. The last time we had a bright idea, we burned down that orphanage, had to bury TWO dang bodies in the desert, and ultimately had to assume a new identity as Pablo Vincent Roblez, shady mustachioed groundskeeper of the Vallarta Golf Course in sunny Welasco, Texas…

Still, loo for that ol’ silver lining…hey, if The Big Short wins, hot on the heels of Birdman taking home last years top honor, it would still signal a large step forward in THAT category. Better it go to films like those with heart and vision than the usual biopics and historical dramas that suck up all the statues by night’s end Let’s check it out and see when the 88th Academy awards air on February 28, 2016.

Random Fact: The Revenant has the most noms this year with a total of 12.
